Supported Living Services (SLS)
Supported Living Services (SLS) is defined as a program that assist adults with developmental disabilities establish and maintain a safe, stable, and independent adult lifestyle.
SLS helps individuals make meaningful and carefully designed choices toward their personal goals in relationships and the community.
SLS services may include assistance with the following:
- Selecting/Moving into a home
- Choosing housemates
- Acquiring household furnishings
- Participating in daily living activities
- Building of relationships
- Preparing for emergencies
- Participating and socializing in community life
- Managing personal financial affairs/shopping management
Independent Living Skills (ILS)
Independent Living Skills (ILS) services is defined as a program that provides functional living skills training and assistance necessary for adults with developmental disabilities to achieve greater independence while living with others or to acquire and maintain living independently.
ILS services mostly focus on basic self-help activities that may include but are not limited to instruction in any of the following:
Money management:
- Shopping
- Meal preparation/Cooking
- Health/medical care
- Personal Health/Hygiene skills
- Laundry/Cleaning
- Advocacy
- Psycho-social support
Person Centered Thinking (PCT)
PCT training is a starting point to learn skills for providing person centered services. Participants will develop skills in person-centered thinking through a series of discussions, applied stories, and guided exercises.
Below are additional details of what the training consists of:
- Capacity of 20 participants
- Training Location (In person or Zoom options)
- 3 sessions total
- First and second session runs 6 hours each, third session runs 4 hours
- Everyone will receive a workbook and a folder with additional materials for the training.
- At the successful completion of all 3 sessions, participants will receive a certificate.
